Video directing, filming, editing and music production for campaigns around the world.

"Alex is an expert in each field and can offer a holistic, integrated package. Apart from the excellent quality of the finished product where he produced, directed,  designed, shot, edited and even wrote the music, the sensitivity with which he worked with very vulnerable communities, involved them in the process and made sure that they were fully confident in the films singled him out as man of great integrity but also as the producer/director I most want to work with." Fiona Smyth (Oxfam)

Postcards from Babylon

Postcards from Babylon is a meditation on life, death and civilisation at the turn of the second millennium. Alex’s rich, diverse compositions and soundscapes span from the electronic to the acoustic, creating an immersive world into which Christian’s storytelling invites our cinematic imaginations, and calls for engaged reflection on our times.

Music composed, performed & produced by Alex Forster.

Words written & performed by Christian de Sousa.

Recorded, mixed & mastered by Alex Forster

"I had been looking for the music producer to create the Postcards from Babylon soundtrack for many years. When I met Alex and discovered the diversity of his musical offering - he is fluent across the board from deep dark electronic soundscapes to sweet multi-instrumental melodies - I knew he had both the soulful vibe and the technical proficiency to co-create what I was looking for. When he turned out to be a deft video producer too, I couldn’t quite believe it, and we successfully embarked on a whole new level of audio-visual creation with the project. His working stye is sensitive, supportive and conscious; a pleasure and a privilege to work with." Christian de Sousa

Mauta

Mauta is a sonic journey written by Tara Rai, accompanied & produced by Alex Forster. The two danced 5 Rhythms many moons ago but never spoke until Tara received an intuition to collaborate with Forster having listened to his album ‘Internal - Music for Dissolving’ for years on repeat.

Alex Forster has been a midwife and creative companion helping Rai expand her song writing and vocal melodies into a tangible listening experience. It was a mammoth one year process working together that saw through the four seasons in Alex’s studio in South London, as well as witnessing a few losses along the way between them both. All of which were woven musings and medicine for the songs that complete the 5 track journey that is Mauta...
